Dear Friend of CHARIAD:

The mighty CHARIAD has emerged from her long winter sleep and is back on the water. Her superb racing crew is working hard to build their individual sailing skills and their teamwork.

You will remember that the team won the season championship for Marblehead last year in Class B. Competition is fierce and we are working to make this another winning season. Our goal is to have a fun and positive sailing experience as a highly competitive team.

We won the Corinthian Yacht Club race last Sunday after finishing third in an earlier race.

The team has put a lot of time into practicing so we remember how to run the boat. And we have a couple of talented new crew members who are being integrated into the formation.

I have been remiss in not getting updates out to you earlier, but I have been super busy with work and a little travel. You will hear about my trip to the Grand Canyon and the photo shoot.

When CHARIAD got to Marblehead Harbor for the first time this season, there were almost no boats in the harbor. This has been a long wet “spring.” We did much of the boat yard pre-launch prep in the drizzle. You can see the cloudy skies in these pictures.

OK – here is a blue sky day.

Join the Friends of CHARIAD group on Facebook if you have not already done so. We are getting updates and pictures on Facebook in real time as opposed to my turtle pace.

We will have a Friends of CHARIAD gathering shortly. You will get the details soon.

Please stay in touch.

My best,

Rick
