Dear Friend of CHARIAD:
OK – This is a REMINDER of the Meet Up on Thursday. For millennials who may not read further, I have included some interesting links below.
Please join the CHARIAD crew & non-crew Friends of CHARIAD
Date
Thursday February 1
Time
6 – 8PM
Place
Shaking Crab, 1815 Mass Ave., Cambridge, MA
Dress Code
Come as you are or want to be.
RSVP
Not required. Just come
The Shaking Crab is in the same spot as our last Cambridge Meet Up. Remember the Tavern in the Square in Porter Square. Same restaurant location. We will probably have the same tables. This is the old Sears – now Lesley College – Building with parking behind the building. The Porter Sq Red Line T stop is next door.
This will be a fun catchup evening with good friends and good cheer. Please come. If there is someone you know who might be a good match for the crew, bring them along.
CHARIAD Friends are all over the world. I wish everyone could get together for a great party. I will raise a toast to the Friends who cannot join the fun this time. I hope the snow birds will remember their friends in the cold north.
January 4 Micro Cyclone or Whatever – Impact on Marblehead
We had a severe winter storm in the Boston area Jan 4 with high winds and high tides. I did not appreciate the impact on the places we know in Marblehead at the time.
The Boston YC parking lot and basement was flooded and power went out. The Landing Restaurant was severely damaged by the storm and subsequent frozen pipes that flooded the building. The Landing is still closed and does not have an announced opening.
Judy Schwenk has provided links to two videos from the day of the storm. The first was taken in the hallway connecting the Landing bar area to the restaurant area.

The second one is looking at the short stretch of road from the Barnacle Restaurant towards Ft. Sewall.
